Student Senate invited students to learn more about the upcoming renovations to Williams Dining Hall on Monday night.
Attendees got to hear the details of the dining hall’s makeover, see a model of what the completed project will look like and ask questions to Bradley administrators. The project is set to start on Oct. 18 and be completed by next fall, though there is no specific date set.
Notable updates to the dining hall include allergy-specific stations where food will be made fresh in front of students, additional seating for more study space and a change in Centre Court’s and Williams’ hours.
“[The project] is to help students have access to quality food, quality living and quality education,” Sarrah Denton, junior political science major and Senate director of administration, said. “It’ll help students have better access [to these] and be able to focus on their education better than their living standards.”
In terms of the construction itself, many students concerns regarded accessibility to Williams and how residences will be affected throughout the process. Senate Campus Affairs Chairperson Max Duffy touched on the issues students will face.
“The dining hall and Centre Court are going to be shut down, so food options will be a little restricted,” Duffy, a junior electrical engineering major, said. “Administration is working to fix those restrictions and open up other places.”
The entrance for residences near Centre Court will be closed beginning Oct. 4.
Senate hopes to provide real-time updates to students on the project and address any lingering questions or concerns.
More information on the Williams Dining Hall project can be found on the Bradley website.
